About the Exhibition:
Parallel Visions has taken as its starting point a vision for presenting modernist and contemporary sculpture and installation from IMMA’s Collection in two parallel sites. Across the two galleries, works by 28 artists, Irish and international, have been selected, covering a period from the 1930s to 2009. The scope of the exhibition allows the audience a unique insight into how concepts and materials have been used and informed artistic practice in relation to contemporary sculpture and installation.Parallel Visions further enhances the creative corridor between the venues and in the process allows a wider audience for the National Collection.
IMMA’s National Programme has curated and collaborated on projects and exhibitions since 1997 in locations outside the confines of the Museum itself. This reflects the Museum’s commitment to promoting participation in, and understanding of ownership of the Collection.Across the two galleries, works by 28 artists, Irish and international, have been selected, covering a period from the 1930’s to 2009.
