Open 10:30–5:00, Tuesday – Saturday
The lives and work of Henry Robertson-Craig and Patrick Hennessy offer a starting point for assessment and response by emerging painters Peter Bradley and Stephen Doyle. Craig and Hennessy were some of the first artists to document the existence of gay culture through figurative painting with an Irish context, touching on themes of societal exclusion, religious power and identity, albeit hidden through queer coding.
This body of work will introduce the contemporary experiences of queer life, both positive and negative. Themes of intimacy and joy as resistance will be shown in contrast to the ongoing struggles facing the queer community.
