Drogheda is serviced by both Intercity (Dublin/ Belfast) and Suburban trains (Dublin/Drogheda/ Dundalk) with trains departingapproximately every half hour from 07:30 - 23:20 daily. Journey times vary from Dublin toDrogheda depending on the service type; theIntercity 'Enterprise'service is the shortest option. Drogheda McBride station is a 20 minute walkfrom the gallery. Bus
Drogheda is serviced by both Intercity (Dublin/Dundalk/ Belfast) and Suburban bus services (Dublin/ Drogheda/ Dundalk),in addition to other national routes, with busses departing from 07:15 - 00:00daily. Journey times vary from Dublin to Drogheda depending on service type - check prior todeparture. The Bus Éireann station is less than a 10 minute walk from the gallery. Taxi
Set down and pick up near the main Courtyard and Café entrances, both of which are ats treet-level with lifts to other Levels. Drogheda has several taxi cabs, many of which are equipped to carry disabled persons.
There are several parking options in Drogheda – both on street parking and multi-story parking, most optionsinvolvement the payment of a fee. We have indicated the approximatedistance from the parking area to Highlanes Gallery in metres.
All public areas of the building are fully accesible by wheelchair, please bear in mind that when converting a building of the age of the former Friary Church has been logistically challenging. We are happy that universal accessibilty has been largely achieved, though certain areas, require attention or careful navigation.
Our floor staff can assist gallery users with special needs, should they request. Courtesy manual wheelchairs are no longer available on request at the main reception due to Covid-19.

Highlanes Gallery Update (7th July 2020):
Due to Covid-19 guidelines, visitors are asked to travel light and to minimise bags & other items when visiting. The cloakroom facility is for now suspended.
Male, female, accessible toilets and baby change facilities are located on the Church level of exhibition, behind altar area, accessible by lift and stairs.
In case of accident or emergency, contact an inviligilator immediately.
The Café has waiter service, as well as high chairs for infants. Following close to Gallery Hours and days: open Wednesday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm, Sunday at 10am to 4pm.
The Highlanes Gallery is unable to give valuations of works of art - a reputable dealer or auction house should be able to help.

Do I need to book online in advance?
Yes, Highlanes Gallery has introduced a new booking online system to facilitate visits of up to 30 minutes for individuals or family or social units of up to 6 people. Please arrive 5 minutes before your allotted time and as there may be others in your 30 minute slot, please expect to queue into the gallery courtyard before you are checked in and sanitise your hands. A light rain jacket or an umbrella is ideal to have in case it’s raining.
And if I can’t book online?
Please telephone the gallery between Wednesday and Saturday from 10.30am-5.00pm and we can process your booking by telephone. Remember visiting hours are Wednesday to Saturday, 11am-4pm and in 30 minute slots.

What is the best way to travel to Highlanes Gallery?
On foot, or by using the car park facilities (on street) or at Laurence Shopping Centre.
If using public transport, please keep in mind that capacity is reduced.
Do I need to wear a face mask?

Can I visit as a group?
The maximum group size we can facilitate is a family or social unit of six people.

Public Programme – Talks & Lectures, Children’s Workshops:
While many of our Children’s Workshops have been transposed to video by our wonderful artists and facilitators, and will continue to present these in this way, we do hope to present some live outdoor talks in late July and during Heritage Week, with strict numbers & following public health guidelines.
