We mark the artistic contribution of artist Bea Orpen in Paint and Purpose – an exhibition of her work drawn from the Collection and private collections, presented with invited contemporary artists – June Connell, Caoimhín Gaffney and Catherine Ward, their practices exploring the idea of landscape in a variety of ways.

The exhibition also features work by some artist friends and contemporaries of Bea’s, acquired to the Collection, as well as members of the Orpen and Trench families, also part of the Drogheda Municipal Art Collection.

To accompany the exhibition we publish a new commissioned text by Dr Yvonne Scott, fellow emeritus at Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin titled Bea Orpen and the Drogheda Municipal Art Collection.

This exhibition is generously sponsored by Vincent Black
