Hand-weaving Workshop (for adults)

Jo Baer’s Coming Home Late: In the Land of the Giants series of works from 2009-2013 and two further works from 2019/2022 inspire this practical workshop using hand weaving led by artist/facilitator, Aoife McDonnell.
You will explore the use of line in these wall mounted canvases as a starting point; where they appear as a link, a border, a guide, a division, a route, etc.as well as the use of various compositional techniques, which convey concepts of duality, core to Mesolithic and Neolithic cultural and spiritual practices, between earth and sky, reality and the otherworld, dawn and dusk, sun and moon.
From here, you will use these concepts and techniques as inspiration to design/imagine and create a small hand-woven work.
All materials supplied, and no experience needed.
