Mark Redmond and Eilís Lavelle: Two Chairs-Love & Independence

Join us in person or online for a Heritage Week event to remember to coincide with Margaret Corcoran’s new solo exhibition, where All Ireland winners, and two of the most talented musicians in contemporary traditional Irish music present an afternoon performance within the stunning exhibition.

 

Co. Monaghan harpist, Eilís Lavelle, a recipient of the Leo Rowsome award for the highest achievement in traditional music, is currently undertaking a PhD in music. Eilís has travelled across the world performing and teaching.

 

Co. Wexford piper, Mark Redmond, who recently performed on a set of pipes owned by Eamonn Ceannt, one of the signatories to the 1916 Proclamation, at Kilmainham Gaol with the Comhaltas National Folk Orchestra of Ireland, has performed as a soloist with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, and performed solo on the occasion of the state visit of Queen Elizabeth II to Ireland in 2011, as well as across the world with Riverdance and the Irish Harp Orchestra.
