Earth Mandala Workshop with Breda Marron

Wednesday, August 17, 2022

Visual artist Breda Marron leads a session where participants make earth mandalas using natural materials. This session gives time to relax, reflect and appreciate the abundance of colour, patterns and symbols within nature, during the full bloom of Summer.

Breda will guide you through a series of simple and gentle creative exercise’s which will help connect you to your own creativity and inner wisdom. No experience required.

With materials supplied (of course you are free to bring flowers yourself), and refreshments including Prosecco and Sparkling water available, this workshop exploring colour and patterns within nature, will be enjoyable, if you attend alone or want to bring a friend or colleague.

Once finished, everyone will have the chance to view the finished mandalas, discuss, and finally create connections between each separate work in order to form a large group piece.

Breda Marron – About

Breda Marron is an award-winning Irish artist. Since graduating from NCAD in 1997, her art practice has evolved to include painting, sculpture and creative workshops.

Breda has been commissioned to create sculptures for public organisations and private clients. Public sculpture awards include Percent for Art commissions for Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Dundalk town Rejuvenation, Slieve Gullion sculpture trail, Termonfeckin National School and CBS School, Dundalk.

The most recent public sculpture has been commissioned by Sculpture Dublin and Dublin City Council, as part of a new People’s Park in Ballyfermot.

Her work is inspired by nature, and the interconnection between the interior and exterior landscapes. These recurring themes weave themselves through Breda’s sculptures, paintings and creative workshops, to create a body of work that is uplifting, nurturing and reflective.

Over the past 20 years, Breda has facilitated many creative workshops within communities, educational and healthcare settings, with an emphasis of creativity, well-being and spirituality.

Artist’s Statement – Breda Marron

Connection and nature are at the core of my art practice. I am inspired by the ebb and flow of life’s experiences and the cyclical pattern and symbols inherent in the natural world. I am fascinated by how we as humans can be connected and at times disconnected, to this energy and rhythm and it’s ripple effects.
