Children’s Midterm Workshop – Friday 3rd November, 1.30pm-3pm
Shells, stones and sand, oh my!
Taking inspiration from the diversity of colours and textures of the deep ocean and Martina O’Brien’s exhibition, midnight zone, children will deep dive into the depths of the Ocean floor using memory and their imaginations, and some of the exhibition’s artworks as prompts.
For this session, they will upcycle old boxes into glittering aquariums, children will engage all of their senses, using pipe cleaners, googley fish eyes, coloured & crepe paper, shells, stones and even some sand!
Children are guaranteed to have an ex-shell-ent time!
About Children’s Workshops at Highlanes Gallery
Workshops are for children aged 5 – 12yrs and charged at €8 per child.
Workshops at the gallery are process-based and explore basic concepts and ideas with children as they are looking. The emphasis is placed on understanding the ideas surrounding the objects. Making objects forms part of that process but is not the only goal of the workshop.
