The Old Culvert

Walker’s, ‘The Old Culvert’, is painted in a free, impressionistic style and pushes a very ordinary, everyday subject to centre stage. The stone arch of the culvert is defined solidly, supporting, supporting a grassy knoll bedecked with wild flowers, with the trees a top the hill painted softly against the clear blue of the sky.
