Légende

Nano Reid , 1957
Légende intermingles local imagery of the Boyne Valley with ancient Greek legend – the ribs and mast of a ship lie decaying, while in the background the Sirens are calling from the promontory, luring unsuspecting sailors. Seagulls wheel overhead against the deep blues of the water and the acid tones of green, which impart to the painting a psychological undertone.
