Dublin Characters

Dublin Characters was created by Healey sketching the teeming life of the Dublin streets, and these sketches were then developed into wash drawings. These show the small scale of the sketch pads he used which he could hold in his hand without attracting attention. The six characters in question are the marvellously captured shawled woman and the typical Dublin men, ranging from a dandy to a working man.
