Légende intermingles local imagery of the Boyne Valley with ancient Greek legend - the ribs and mast of a ship lie decaying, while in the background the Sirens are calling from the promontory, luring unsuspecting sailors. Seagulls wheel overhead against the deep blues of the water and the acid tones of green, which impart to the painting a psychological undertone.

An abstract oil painting of a green coloured ship, its ribs and mast decaying on a rocky coastline. Seawater with white waves crashes against the rocks in the middle and far background.
