Open 10:30–5:00, Tuesday – Saturday
The hand in art is the focus for Julie Duhy in this week’s Children’s Workshop, which has a friendly warning of some mess (back garden would be a good place to do this) and time. It took Julie herself 5 days! Warm weather will help!
In our Collection is a work by an artist called William Mulready on ivory – Miniature of the artist’s hand – and this has been the trigger for Julie, both considering materials – a very interesting and fun process of papier-mãché, and the idea of construction, and the hand in the history of art.

Plain Flour

Salt
Kitchen Roll
Empty toilet Paper Roll x 1
Plastic Glove x 1

If you’re working with younger children, view the video in advance to help prepare yourself. It is shorter than a real time workshop which would normally be 1 hour 30 minutes, but you can stop and start the video at stages so that children can take part slowly and reflectively with the session.
