To Land – Living Roots Awaken

Parent and Toddler Tuesday Morning Workshop

Tuesday 16th June 10.30am

A Gallery-based workshop led by artist Caoimhe O’Dwyer

Join artist Caoimhe O’Dwyer for a fun and imaginative workshop specially designed for early years in the Lower Gallery at Highlanes Gallery.

Together, Caoimhe will take you and your little ones on a gentle journey through To Land: Living Roots Awaken, an exhibition presented by Highlanes Gallery and Crawford Gallery in collaboration with the Artist-Teacher-Researcher Curatorial Group. Filled with paintings, prints, textiles, ceramics, drawings, and sculptures, the exhibition explores nature, place, memory, and our connection to the world around us.

After a short, toddler-friendly look at some of the artworks, families will create their own colourful nature prints inspired by Elizabeth Magill’s striking landscape painting ‘Blue Constrictor’. Using watercolours, ink, and simple printmaking techniques, little hands can experiment, explore, and make unique artworks to take home.

This relaxed, hands-on workshop offers a wonderful introduction to the art world for young children, encouraging creativity, curiosity, sensory exploration, and special shared moments between adults and little ones in the welcoming surroundings of Highlanes Gallery.

Suitable for toddlers and their parents. No experience necessary, just come ready to play, create, and discover together!

All materials provided.

Do not worry if you are running late or have to leave early – we can facilitate to your needs.
