Paper & Possibilities: Children’s Midterm Workshop
Thursday 30th October 11.30am-1pm
For children aged 5 – 12yrs
Facilitator Nela Hadija explores paper, pencil, tape and staplers and the simple and complex possiblities of paper. Looking at the sculptural work of Maud Cotter from the large work maelstrom to the wall-based objects in the side gallery, children will take inspiration and create 2D and 3D elements learning art and craft techniques that they can also use at home for an indoor day to create things that could be used for a family celebration or decoration for a room or a handmade present.
Parents – Children are welcome to bring some items you want to use from your own family paper recycling bin.
About Children’s Workshops at Highlanes Gallery
Workshops are for children aged 5 – 12yrs and charged at €8 per child.
Workshops at the gallery are process-based and explore basic concepts and ideas with children as they are looking. The emphasis is placed on understanding the ideas surrounding the objects. Making objects forms part of that process but is not the only goal of the workshop.
