Open 10:30–5:00, Tuesday – Saturday
Emerging textile artist Aoife McDonnell leads this workshop for adults which is Inspired by the work of Diana Copperwhite.
Prompted by the techniques of layering, fragmenting and piecing together that are characteristic of the artist’s work, both in the way she explores themes and visuals and the artist’s technical approach to drawing and painting.
Starting with a sketching and drawing warm-up exercise, you will experiment with a variety of dry materials working large scale as a group, exploring colour, movement and form, with a focus on blending techniques and line drawing.
Returning to a smaller, individual scale, you will create a hand-bound booklet using papers of varying weights and transparencies, incorporating drawings and motifs from the previous exercises through collage, transfer and scaled-down transposition.
