Join exhibiting artist June Connell for a session exploring her practice with combined with a hands-on printmaking workshop.
June’s work Faire has recently been acquired to the Collection and is presented in the current exhibition Bea Orpen: Paint and Purpose
In this session June will help attendees through the basic ideas and processes of lino printmaking.
Linocut is a relief printmaking method where one transfers an image to a block/sheet of soft lino, before carefully carving away the negative space and leaving behind the imprint for inking & printing.
June will share examples of prints and lino blocks, and the goal of the session is to give attendees an understanding of the process and possibilities of lino printmaking.
This workshop is designed for ages 16 and older, and is charged at €8 per person, with places limited.
About: June Connell’s practice draws on the healing and grounding qualities of nature. Through photography, drawing, and printmaking, June explores shape, colour, and pattern to express nature’s power and fragility.
