Helena’s work’s, Untitled & Seed have just been newly acquired for the Drogheda Municipal Art Collection this year, and will be on view for the first time as part of the Collection.

About:
Helena Gorey lives in the rural townland where she grew up in County Kilkenny. This place and its surrounding nature has influenced much of her work, producing exhibitions such as ‘The Orchard’ at the Butler Gallery, ‘Ground’, ‘The Blackcurrant Field’, ‘Two Trees’ at The Dock and her most recent solo exhibition ‘Proscenium’ at The Ashford Gallery, RHA, 2018.
In 2019 she was included in a site specific exhibition at Rathfarnham Castle curated by Mark St. John Ellis and her work is currently part of ‘the lives we live…’ strand of Grangegorman Public Art Program. Her most recent collaboration was with Canice Architects on the facade of their new social housing project in Callan, Co Kilkenny, and most recent group exhibitions as of 2020 include; Highlanes Gallery Open Submission, The Sky is Blue, Visual Carlow, ‘Between You and Me’ Online Programme, Contemporary Irish Arts Centre Los Angeles, Helena Gorey & Masashi Suzuki, and NagGallery Online.
Her work is included in various public collections including The Butler Gallery, IMMA and The OPW. She is represented by NagGallery.
