Join us for the launch of the Drogheda Walled Town Collective, here at Highlanes Gallery, Friday 10th May, 11am.
Highlanes Gallery Drogheda is delighted to host the launch of the Drogheda Walled Town Collective.
Organised by the Collective’s co-ordinator Rósa Corcoran, it introduces this exciting new initiative which will engage artists, archaeologists, writers, historians, musicians, conservation architects, biodiversity experts and curators, in a series of projects and events to enhance community awareness of and engagement with the built, natural and cultural heritage of the historic walled town of Drogheda.
Speakers will include Community Historian Brendan Matthews and Eimear O’Connell from the Heritage Council’s Irish Walled Towns Network.
Eimear will give a brief presentation on the network’s five year strategy and Drogheda’s pivotal role as a network member.
This will be followed by a site visit to a portion of the town wall at Featherbed Lane.
Tea, coffee and a warm welcome upon arrival.
