This Drawing Day, join artist Raphael Hynes for an hour-long session looking at aspects of the current Collection exhibition For the Love of Paint and especially those that connect with a drawing practice like Nano Reid’s Rath Bran (Mhór), Gerard Dillon’s Fast Day, and two works by William Orpen and James McNeill Whistler.
Drawing is a sense-making capacity that requires us to slow down, concentrate and think.
In this theoretical and practical session with Hynes you will explore use drawing skills as tools for looking, questioning, analysing and describing what you see, where Raphael will work through a series of exercises that can help provide a skills-based approach to critical thinking through visual analysis.
