Open 10:30–5:00, Tuesday – Saturday
Head of a Girl is a poignant and haunting study of a little girl, in black and white pastel, and conveys the empathy and the sadness Peake felt for society’s forgotten people. She is posed, hand on her chin, looking down to the right-hand corner of the page. From the inscription on the work, this is possibly a study of the donor, Mrs Pamela Grove, as a child.
