Although mainly self-taught, Dany Lartigue benefited from the encouragement of his artistic family and from the advice of the French artist, Pierre Bonnard (1867-1947). His work shows Bonnard’s direction in its treatment of light and colour and the influence of the Post-Impressionists in its composition, exemplified in ‘Still-life with Eggs’.
