Parent and Toddler Tuesday Morning Workshop
Tuesday 19th May 10.30am
A Gallery-based workshop led by artist Caoimhe O’Dwyer
Join artist Caoimhe O’Dwyer for a playful and creative workshop designed especially for parents and toddlers. Together, you’ll explore Ceiliúradh: Treasures of the Boyne Valley and focus on some of the river and sea themes within the paintings.
“With the river as a constant, themes explored in the exhibition include a sense of place, continuity and change, and treasures past and present”. HG
After a short, family-friendly tour of the exhibition, Caoimhe will guide participants in creating their own seashells using mixed media techniques. We will also create our own flowing rivers using watercolour and pastels. With simple, tactile methods, families will experiment with different textures and techniques making individual artworks inspired by Raphael Hynes ‘Shell’ and Joanne Cartwright’s ‘View from the Curley Hole‘.
This gentle, hands-on session is a lovely first step into the world of art for little ones, encouraging curiosity, imagination, and shared creativity between parent and child in the welcoming setting of the Highlanes Gallery.
