His music, while mainly rooted in traditional/folk, can incorporate elements of blues and rock, creating an appealing mix of sounds which makes his playing distinctive. Highly respected internationally, Ruairí regularly tours both nationally and internationally with leading musicians within the traditional/folk circuit. Ruaíri has performed at many festivals throughout Europe and America with singer songwriter Breige Murphy, multi instrumentalist and singer Barry Kerr and flute player Martha Guiney, to name a few.
