Provenance: Coll: Ulster Museum, Belfast
‘Knockalla Hills, Donegal’, 1951 (Coll. Ulster Museum) one of his landscape, is devoid of the anguish, colour and emotion of birth but which is treated in the same expressionistic manner, with the same spontaneity of thick brush strokes and use of palette knife, which conveys a more subjective, emotional mood, different from his early more representational landscapes.
