21 Feb 2020 - 21 Feb 2020
Venue: Highlanes Municipal Art Gallery
Sponsor: Louth County Council / Arts Council
Admission: EUR8.00

Join artist Claire Halpin this February Midterm for; Painting Places Everywhere, and pick from two exciting painting workshop sessions (morning and afternoon) here at the gallery on Friday February 21st.

Inspired by and responding to our current exhibition Two Painters: Kathy Tynan & Andrew Vickery, children will explore painting places everywhere - mixing together landscapes from around the world, underground, over ground, the mind wandering free.

Children will experiment with a range of painting styles and techniques, materials and surface to create and construct painted landscapes.

Make sure children are dressed appropriately - clothes that can take a dab of waterbased paint. Suggestion: send them in with an oversized old t-shirt or shirt.

Workshops are for children aged 5 - 13yrs, with booking essential and priced at €8 per place on;

Workshops at the gallery are process-based and explore basic concepts and ideas with children as they are looking. The emphasis is placed on understanding the ideas surrounding the objects. Making objects forms part of that process but is not the only goal of the workshop.
